Radiant Customization

Trying to customize your Radiant theme? Under the Customize page on your blog, you can make edits to appearance, sharing options, social media links, and more!

Title, Description, Colors & Fonts

Title - The title of your blog will appear at the top and bottom of your Radiant theme. Make sure to toggle on "Show Blog Title" if you want your title to appear on your blog.

Description - Your description should be an explanation of your blog. It will appear at the bottom of your blog, under the blog title. If you want the description to appear, make sure to toggle the "Show Description" option on. 

Font Options:

Title Font - Choose from a variety of font faces in the dropdown menu to determine the font used for the blog title. Radiant's default title font is Clearface, but feel free to click on the dropdown menu and pick a different title font.

Primary Font - Choose from a variety of font faces in the dropdown menu to determine the font for the post tiles and other primary text.

Accent Font - Choose from a variety of font faces in the dropdown menu to determine the font for main text in your posts and in accent areas, like tags and date.

Title Font Weight - Choose Normal or Bold as text treatment for titles on your blog posts.

Title Italics - Enabling Title Italics will display your blog title in italics.

Title Uppercase - Enabling Title Uppercase will display your blog title in uppercase. 

Post Font Size - This defines the base font size for text in the posts and other sections of the theme. The default is 16px.

Color Options:

Title Color - This sets the color of the titles of all blog posts, as well as your blog title.

Accent Color - This sets the accent color of the theme. Text color is determined by this setting.

Background - This sets the background color of the header and footer bars.


Header Image & Photos

Header Image - Radiant allows you to assign a header image, which will appear either above the top navigation or below the top navigation on your blog. To put your header image above the title bar, check out "Position Header Image Above Title Bar" below. Toggle "Show Header Image" on to make your header image appear on your blog. This Header Image will also pull from the one you chose in Settings, under "Edit Appearance," in case you already have one assigned.

Stretch Header Image - If you'd like the header image to take up the full width of your screen, toggle "Stretch Header Image" on. 

Position Header Image Above Title Bar - If you want to place the image above the title bar, toggle this option on.

Scale Photos - Toggle this option ON to make your images in posts fill 100% of the space designed for the post (i.e. your image will be scaled to fit the width of the page). Warning: small photos may experience pixelation if you choose this option. 

Use Tumblr Photosets - Toggle this option OFF to display each photo of a photoset at full size, one on top of the other.

Alternating Audio Photo Video Post Layout - Toggling the Alternating Audio Photo Video Post Layout option ON will alternate the post media from one post to the next. The post heading will display to the side of the post, as opposed to beneath. The rest of the text will not appear on the home page. It will appear on the permalink page for the post. 

Show Links & Sharing

Show Search & Search Label - Toggling on the "Show Search" option will make a search bar appear at the top of your blog. Your viewers can enter terms into the search bar to look for specific blog content. The "Search Label" is the word or phrase that will appear if you toggle on "Show Search."

Show Home Link - The Home Link is a link that appears in your Menu bar. Toggle "Show Home Link" on to have "Home" appear in your Menu. When someone clicks on "Home," it will take them to the homepage of your blog. 

Show Archive Link - The Archive Link is a link that appears in your Menu bar. Toggle "Show Archive Link" on to have "Archive" appear in your Menu. When someone clicks on "Archive," it will take them to a month-by-month archive of your posts.

Show Random Link - The Random Link is a link that appears in your Menu bar. Toggle "Show Random Link" on to have "Random" appear in your Menu. When someone clicks on "Random," it will take them to a randomly generated post on your blog.

Show RSS Link - The RSS Link is a link that appears in your Menu bar. Toggle "Show RSS Link" on to have "RSS" appear in your Menu. When someone clicks on "RSS," it will take them to your RSS feed. 

Show Share on Index - Toggling this option ON will place social media share buttons on the bottom of your posts. Twitter, Facebook, Google +, and Pinterest icons should appear under your post and above the tags. Tumblr users can click on those icons to share your post on their social media profiles.

Show Share on Permalink - A permalink page is a page for your individual blog post. Toggling the "Show Share on Permalink" option ON will make the social media share buttons appear on the bottom of your post for those individual post pages. 

Social Media

Show Social Icons - Toggle ON this option to make social media icons appear in the title bar of your blog. Make sure you have added your social media profile URLs to the customize entries (ex. "URL Facebook," "URL Instagram," etc.) for the icons to link properly to your profiles.
